Is Private Coaching Right for Me?
1. What is Life Coaching?
As a Life Coach, I empower you to set goals and establish accountability for personal and professional success. I guide you as you articulate your aspirations, clarify the choices before you and create action plans to achieve your goals. You set the agenda, and I serve as an objective sounding board to help keep you focused and on track. Through teaching and guidance, and sometimes objective advice, I help you break through old barriers and develop new practices so you can reach your desired goals.
2. Why Hire a Life Coach?
People usually hire a Life Coach because they want to change something in their lives or business and they want help along the way. Hiring a Life Coach is a commitment to living your life to the fullest. I will be dedicated to you and the achievement of your goals. I will be your support system and cheerleader, without judgment!
3. How does Life Coaching differ from therapy?
Although Life Coaching and Therapy can compliment each other, life coaching is not therapy. Counseling is a past-focused discipline in which the counselor identifies the reasons for a person's feelings and behaviors and offers ways to handle a particular issue and also may offer treatment for a psychological issue. Coaching does not attempt to explain behaviors, delve into the past or identify pathology. Instead, we focus on the future. Coaching is a partnership between the coach and the client. Together, through coaching, we develop strategic actions to help you move forward in a way that works for you.
4. Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes! I offer a free 30-minute consultation during which time you can ask questions and you and I will discuss whether coaching is the right option for you at this time and whether I am the right person to help you.
5. What happens in a Life Coach session?
Before you can go anywhere, you have to know where you are starting. In the beginning, if needed, I will help you to get clarity about what you need and want out of coaching. Typically each session starts with me asking you how your week went and a discussion about any achievements or successes you may have had or any issues you struggled with over the last week. The client typically sets the agenda for the session, with guidance from me if needed. I assign an assignment for the week. The session is typically 45-55 minutes.
6. What results can I expect?

7. Where are sessions held?
Conveniently, coaching sessions are done over the phone!
This allows you to speak freely and provides you with flexibility in your environment. Instead of worrying about what you may look like if you get emotional, you are in the privacy of your own home so you can really focus on the work at hand. Or we can have a session from wherever you happen to be and there is no need for you to have to rearrange your schedule. Note: Although the majority of coaching sessions are phone sessions, I will make exceptions if desired and it is feasible. Zoom sessions are also available.
8. Are Life Coaching sessions confidential?

Everything we talk about is 100% confidential and unless you tell someone that we are working together (or give me your express permission to do so) no one will know that we have spoken. I am ethically obligated to keep all sessions confidential.
9. How many coaching sessions are required?
This will depend greatly on what you want to achieve with coaching. You should be getting great benefit from each session. If your goals are more complex the minimum commitment is generally three months of coaching. This can be discussed in more detail during your free consultation. There are no hard fast rules.
